Welcome Back to Fourth Grade! Here’s a look of what’s happening this year:

RELIGION – Creation, commandments, saints, rosaries, Beatitudes and seasonal practices are studied.  Students have a chance to write in a prayer journal on a daily basis any intentions.  These intentions are prayed daily.  As part of student jobs, students are prayer leaders.  They lead prayer for the week.

LANGUAGE ARTS - 4th grade has a new reader this year.  Vocabulary words will be introduced each Monday for a new weekly story.  Students are encouraged to read books through the AR program.  12 AR points are needed each quarter.

ENGLISH – This year begins with declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences.

MATH –Multiplication and division are reviewed and then larger number concepts are learned.  Geometry, algebra, and graphs are studied...

SOCIAL STUDIES – US regions and Kentucky will be covered.

HOMEWORK – There will be homework each night with a bulk of it given on Monday but not due until Wednesday.  Students should pace homework accordingly.  Homework is to be completed in full.  One or two items not attempted or the wrong items completed are considered incomplete homework.  Homework is given to reinforce concepts learned at school.
