READING- The students are working on reading A.R. books. The goal is earn 10 pt. each quarter. The students should score at least a 70% on the test. Each student reaching the goal will receive a week free from homework. We will also read Unit 1 and 2 in our new readers. Unit 1 is Dollars and Sense. Unit 2 is Smart Solutions. MATH - We will begin working on place value and rounding numbers and estimating. Students should also review the addition and subtraction math facts. We’ll also work on rounding and money.

RELIGION – The third grade has many service projects this year. We will write to Lt. Don Meihaus, a former St. Henry student, who is serving in the Army. He will be in Iraq for the next year. We are also going to provide cards and perform for the St. Barbara Seniors. More information about this will available soon. LANGUAGE ARTS – We are working on writing complete sentences, types of sentences and subject/predicate. We’ll work on various writing projects. SCIENCE – We’ll begin with Earth Science. We will study rocks and minerals, forces that shape the Earth, and Earth’s resources. We’re off to a great start!
