New Technology for a GREAT new year! I have received a new Smart Board this year! This technology changes teaching. It is an innovative way to interact with the class. There are so many new and excting things we can do with this. The students and myself are having a great time learning all the new ways we can teach and learn! Religion We are currently working on memorizing the Act of Contrition. Please pratice this with your child at home as well. First Communion Meeting is September 18, 2007. Reading We have received a new Reading series this year, Scott Foresman Reading Street. This new series has new ideas for teaching Reading. The series suggests beginning of the year assessments to find out what students already know. This helps me to figure out what areas of Reading your child needs to work on most. Things to work on at home · Basic Math facts · Act of Contrition · Read 15 min. every night · Organizational skills Please keep the second grade handbook in a safe spot at home. You will need to refer to it often. These will need to be returned at the end of the school year.
