Welcome to the exciting world of first grade! We have lots of fun activities planned for this school year! Among them are: **St. Anne’s field trip in September to enhance our study of plants. **Field trip to Sunrock Farm in October to enhance our study of plants and farm animals. **Our final field trip of the year will occur in May and take place at the Cincinnati Zoo.

We also have a lot of work to do this year. The children will start out the year in reading reviewing the letter sounds, mastering the first vocabulary words, and reading stories. In math they will be working on their first addition and subtraction facts. In religion the children will learn that we gather in church as a community to celebrate the mass. The first prayers we will be working on are: The Sign of the Cross, the prayer before a meal, and the Hail Mary.
